forever this means Love

when it comes down to it, what we've got here is a little bit of everything. Which is good cause that is what everybody wants.

Michael Grab is a land artist who “creates astonishing towers and orbs of balanced rocks using little more than patience and an astonishing sense of balance. Grab says the art of stone balancing has been practiced by various cultures around the world for centuries and that he personally finds the process of balancing to be therapeutic and meditative.”

Over the past few years of practicing rock balance, simple curiosity has evolved into therapeutic ritual, ultimately nurturing meditative presence, mental well-being, and artistry of design. Alongside the art, setting rocks into balance has also become a way of showing appreciation, offering thanksgiving, and inducing meditation. Through manipulation of gravitational threads, the ancient stones become a poetic dance of form and energy, birth and death, perfection and imperfection.

Head over to Colossal to view more of Michael’s awesome artwork and then visit his portfolio to see some more. You’ll also find videos of him working over on YouTube.

This giant NES controller, completely functional and made almost entirely out of LEGO bricks, was created by Baron Julius von Brunk. It’s a super geeky, super awesome project.

“The Baron connected the bricky buttons and the d-pad to small push buttons, which are in turn connected the circuit board of a NES controller. He built spring-loaded modules using Technic pieces to prevent the big LEGO buttons from getting stuck on the small push buttons.”

Because the Baron enjoys playing NES games on his PC, the giant LEGO NES controller also hooks up to a USB converter.

Check out Baron Julius’ blog to learn more about this fantastic project.

Three awesome things about this image:
1. Someone clearly understands the importance of Emergency Bacon.
2. Someone else, although in need of Emergency Bacon, appreciates its usefulness enough to take only two rashers, leaving the rest for others who might also turn up in desperate need of rescue meats.
3. Bacon.

If I never forget that I’ve been a prodigal daughter then I won’t take for granted the Love that I have been given.

We were all lost once.

I know there is a school of thought out there that says we need to only focus on the fact that we have been redeemed and I can admit a certain amount of wisdom in that. If all we see ourselves as is an incapable sinner, and not as someone who has been freed to live a good life, well. You know. Insert psychobabble about self fulfilling prophesies here.

But I want to be like the women and the perfume. I want to be willing to “waste” anything at the feet of Jesus because I realize what he has done for me. I have been forgiven much. I was lost once. I want to always look into the face of Jesus and see amazing love.

Odds are most of us are familiar with icicles, but how many of you have ever seen a stopcicle?
This photo was taken yesterday in Mirabel, Quebec. There was some discussion of its location at reddit, where we are assured that in France, stop signs say “Stop” instead of “Arret.”
